A massive company offering the most popular streaming service. Spotify’s popularity allows it to leverage its sheer numbers to pay artists the least out of any major streaming service- less than half a cent per stream. They suck, but this is where my music is listened to the most. No hard feelings if this is your choice, it’s not your fault that they suck- it’s their fault that they suck.

Apple’s higher subscription costs come with slightly higher pay rates for artists. Though less popular, they are able to pay out close to one cent per stream (over twice what Spotify pays).

This platform is versatile and popular, allowing artists to conveniently share their content. It is harder to built a large and diverse audience here, but becomes very valuable to artists who are able to.

This platform is far less popular than its competitors, but pays over a cent per stream to its artists, making it the most convenient way to support your favorite musicians.

Unsurprisingly, the mega-corporation does not treat its employees or its artists well. With a rate of pay similar to Spotify’s, the main thing Amazon offers is convenience.

Using this platform, you can buy music from artists directly and stream it using the Bandcamp app. This is obviously the most expensive option. I understand why this is not feasible for most. No hard feelings.
